Social elections are coming up
When do you have to be ready?
Does the period between 13 and 26 May 2024 ring a bell? It will soon be that time again: the moment for 7,000 Belgian companies to choose their employee representatives. The social elections might seem as though they’re still a long way away, but make no mistake: the statutory 150-day election procedure abides by a strict election calendar. So it’s time to start thinking about your plan of action and the necessary resources now.
Who has to organise social elections?
The threshold for organising social elections is an average of 50 employees. At this level, you have to set up a Workplace Health And Safety Committee. If you have an average of at least 100 employees, you need a Works Council too.
